2014-10-25 Thread Jørgen Skov Nielsen
Hi all.

My sister’s external Mbox 3rd Pro Firewire soundcard / sound device is
broken, and she need a new one. She need a high end sound card thunderbold or
USB 3.0. She use it for recording with protools and in the future she will try
to use logic.
She also use it for connecting to her receiver to obtain better sound quality.
The controlpannel settings on the MBoX pro 3rd is not VoiceOver freindly.

I hope anyone can help me.
Thanks in advance
Best regards
Jorgen

Any amplifier recommendations for use with headphones on a Mac?

2014-10-25 Thread Andy Collins
Hi all -

When I booted in to repair mode [command r] and Fred began speaking, the volume
output was so low I could hardly hear him, and found it difficult to understand
what he was reading on the screen. I already have an fiio headphones amp, that
does help with boosting sound in general, but I could really do with something
a bit more powerful, for situations like the above, but also for listening to
music, especially when I use my excellent Beyer headphones with my iPhone 6.
The Beyers have a great sound, but not enough power without being boosted.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks -

Andy

Re: Any amplifier recommendations for use with headphones on a Mac?

2014-10-25 Thread Dane Trethowan
I too have a hearing loss.

The trick here is to use something which has a headphones out, for example some
readily available computer speakers have headphones out thus you can give your
headphones that extra volume you need.

For example, my Altec Lansing computer speakers plug into the Mac’s headphone
jack.

When in recovery mode volume - as I understand it - cannot be changed from the
Mac so I change the volume of the Altec Lansing with headphones plugged in to
compensate.

I’m still having trouble receiving mail on the Mac Book Air. I can receive
gmail but not mail to the sudden link account. I can receive mail on the
iPhone and the Toshiba laptop too.
I deleted and added the sudden link account back to the Mac and it got mail for
a day or so but now it just shows as empty. I can receive gmail to the Mac.
Any suggestions as to what I can try? I’m running Yosemite on the Mac.

output was so low I could hardly hear him, and found it difficult to understand
what he was reading on the screen.

Thanks -

Hello,

I just reviewed the information on this app. My question is: Will this work
with the OS of Mountain Lion? I haven't upgraded to Yosemite yet, but would
like to purchase it and hopefully use it before installing Yosemite. It would
be nice to have a clone of the computer, plus a good all-around backup program.
Thanks for this gem.
