Since I got the Mac, people were saying, virus software was not needed.
I however feel it would be better to have,
My old virus software from total defense, is not compatible with the Mac, I
I'm using sophos at the moment.
It is free.
Anyone have suggestions on what I should use?

I use clamxav. I go over it here. http://tffppodcast.com/listen and look a few
posts down. It is very good at what it does and it's also free.
You don't need anti virus software but there's nothing wrong with being safe.
