Ok, I've worked out how to turn it on off.
But what is vertical splitter?
When I scroll down the list of files folders, the files shows up on
the right hand side of the window.

When I'm in a window, and I arrow down , voiceover curcer does not move down
the list of items.
If I turn voiceover off, I can scroll down the list ok.
Any idea as to why this is happening ?

You might have quick nap turned off, just press the left and right arrow keys
