After years of obstinately sticking with poor old outdated AppleWorks, I've
finally decided I have to face reality and switch to a more current app,
esp. one that's compatible with (ugh) PCs, since I do a lot of work with
editors on PCs; the Mac to PC translation is time-consuming and
uncertain.
Nolan ,I wonder, can't you just work on your MacI write adocument
usually in text edit which produces a rtf, or rtfd file. Then before
saving it i just click and chose the format I want and send all your
files in word? I get all kinds of files, all in word. I easily open
them on my Mac and
I have use Microsoft for Mac for years, and have had not troubles at all,
either with compatibility or viruses. I cannot imaging not using it.

After years of use I have never had a virus on my Mac and the programs work
well. I do not have a virus protection program. I have one for the Windows on
my dual core but not the Mac.

I've been using Office 2008 for Mac for about a year and it works just fine. No
virus protection needed. I had been using the 2004 version of Office for many
years and found it getting increasingly unstable with newer Mac OS versions.
I'm running Snow Leopard now and Office 2008 works
I have been using it for years and have had no problems. It's a MAC program so
needs/not needs protection as anybother mac program. Good price also.
