What is Airplane Mode on the iPod touch Settings? Do you want it on or off if
flying? I assume Off if one doesn't plan on accessing any Wi-fi while flying.

As an old pilot I know there is radio harmonics whereas strange
frequencies can be heard on FAA frequencies. I can recall that upon
one occasion, at night, while navigating on the Shelby (Indiana) VOR
in a snowstorm, the FAA signal was overwhelmed by a FM station playing
loud

I have not given up my mac (albeit a dinosaur) but I have a windows laptop
that has a 56K PC Card for the modem. One of the pins has broken and I am
trying to find another one. (Still using dialup). It is a 3Com product for
windows.
