Since you mentioned that your photos and music are so important to you, I might also suggest an online backup solution like Backblaze. It's $50/year for "unlimited" storage. I've used it for a few years now and love it. It's saved my rear at least once when other backup solutions went haywire. r

Stuart, If you really have very important data you might want to consider getting a Drobo, which takes several drives and does an automatic RAID setup. It's more expensive to start with, but after going through literally dozens of external drive failures while storing and backing up our photogr
