On my MacBook Pro laptop (2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo, OSX 10.8.5), if I walk away from
it for an hour, it doesn't go to sleep, it logs me out! This does not occur if
I close the lid (it will then sleep).
My settings are:
- Require password 5 minutes after sleep or screen saver begins
- Computer
My friend wants to know how to add color or custom icons to folders and files
he puts in the Finder sidebar. Is this possible in Mavericks? He (and others)
want color in the Finder sidebar to help quickly recognize items via color
coding.

Looks like Path Finder by Cocoatech allows for custom icon.
