I would be very curious to see if a buildbot project might sort out how to
test-build all the dependents of a suggested upgrade to a library for breakage.
I recall hearing about one of the unix variants that had figured out how to do
that.

GSOC 2020 has been announced, I haven't seen a thread yet on macports being
an org.
We discussed the topic within Buildbot community, and we think we don't
have enough of our users as student, and are not attractive enough to be
effective.
