cargo should declare if {${os.subplatform} eq "macosx" && [vercmp ${macosx_version} 10.8] <= 0} { depends_run port:git } for legacy platforms, as cargo is unusable if it cannot update its registry. I'll leave the change to someone who is interested and willing to test this. Rainer
