Well I decided to wait for a new macports gimp2 release without the need for
this patch. In the meanwhile I will use Gimp on my VMWare Fusion Ubuntu
partition. Works effortlessly on Ubuntu.

I can see wanting to compile Gimp oneself, but why don't you use the
precompiled package for OS X
:-) Well, I actually did not look for a ready made - pre-compiled - Gimp
package. I thought that most or all X11 programs had to be
installed/compiled via MacPorts. I just starting using a Mac two weeks ago

Anyone else experiencing this? I've even removed groff but something
needs it and I end up in this loop each time.
