I've made several attempts to install abiword, both with macports
and have also tried a couple of binaries that I downloaded.
All (including the macports build) are for PowerPC.
Is there a variant that will allow me to build abiwork for my intel
mac? (2011 Mac Mini, Lion)

Depends on how you configure your MUA.
I'm sure there's probably a RFC floating about somewhere that deals with

I'm sure it can. Wouldn't you agree that it would be more convenient,
perhaps, for it not to have to be set by each new participant?

I wonder if there's a better way to do that, in particular avoiding the
wildcards; I would suspect it ends up waking up on *every* syscall to do

Ok thank you
Hello all.
I've noticed that the default reply recipient for messages generated
from the MacPorts Users mailing list is "just" the person that
actually sent the message. This causes grief when you hit reply,
thinking it will go to the ML, but end up just sending a personal
reply on accident.

I found out what has been biting me. I had been running a dtrace
script in the background to record all tcp connections in a file.
After I removed that, updating ports is so much snappier I can't
believe it.
According to the hype, dtrace is not supposed to affect system
performance, or at lea

Hmmm... I installed Spyder via Macports and it installed pretty well everything
I want. So why did I bother with Enthought, you ask. Good question :-)
The only benefit is that the Enthought distro installs very quickly.
Spyder from the command line runs the system python (or python), not the
