hmm.. "which apachectl" returns /usr/sbin/apachectl and it's not a softlink. I believe it's the OSX default server. So i uninstalled the mapserver/apache2 then renamed the apachectl: sudo mv /usr/sbin/apachectl /usr/sbin/apachectl_original then sudo port install mapserver +apache2 and run /opt/

hi.. I'm on Mavericks trying to get mapserv running from the cgi-bin directory under the Apache root. The server is up and responding to http://127.0.0.1but http://127.0.0.1/cgi-bin/mapserv is popping up a Safari dialog "This webpage is not available". The /opt/local/apache2/logs directory is empt
