http://hpc.sourceforge.net/. This site has binaries compiled from the
GNU source code with versions for Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion and
Lion. I've have been able to successfully install and gfortran from this
site.

Can someone please tell me the status of gfortran for yosemite? I am
having not luck in finding gfortran on macports. There is g95 but I have
not installed it. Looking around a bit it seems that gcc apparently
compiles fortran code? That is gnu cc. But what is its relation to
macports ports

GCC = Gnu compiler collection, as well as meaning the Gnu C compiler. So,
the gcc ports include gfortran among other compilers. g95 is a related
fortran compiler.
