octave 4.4.0 for a number of days and never succeed. The website Octave for
macOS - Octave using mac ports has octave-4.2.2 which I don't like it. The

I only generally use gnuplot with octave on the Mac. However, I use gnuplot to
generate charts on the fly on two web servers running FreeBSD.
I don’t know when you last ran port selfupdate or sync, but gnuplot 5.2.3 was
released about two weeks ago. Maybe some change in there?
