Thank you very much for your help! It worked. I’m very glad to see the familiar
old-school look of Xfig. I had it on my mind that something may be wrong with
X11 server, but forgot about it. Thank you!

Hi,
fig is an X11 application, and thuis requires an X11 server to be installed to
work. Do you have one installed ? If you are not sure run
sudo port install xorg-server
and follow the instructions at the end to log out and back in again, and then
retry running xfig.
