notification center

2014-05-25 Thread Jean
Hello All: Ever since the last update of Mavericks, the notification center has been driving me mad. No matter how many times I check do not disturb it keeps disturbing me with this and that alert that I don't care about. Also, I am getting these messages that say bright, crisp, no faces.

Jean, I think somebody answered your question about the image reports of no faces earlier. It's in the VO Utility / speech / help tags. By setting it to do nothing, help tags, which is what those image descriptions are, will not be announced. You won't get any other help tags announced

Yep, arranging tables is mostly just for sighted people. It also changes what order VoiceOver comes across them, but this isn't really that important for VoiceOver users. I know, many of my personal spreadsheets apparently used to look awful and make no sense to sighted people. Of late I've

My thoughts on OpenOffice for Os X

2014-05-25 Thread Christopher Hallsworth
Hello everybody It seems OpenOffice for Os X is pretty awful. It's unstable. VoiceOver would not let me hear back what I've typed. It could sure do with room for improvement. Finally you cannot press buttons in the normal way; you have to press space once the button is in the VoiceOver cursor.
