Hello All:
Ever since the last update of Mavericks, the notification center has been
driving me mad. No matter how many times I check do not disturb it keeps
disturbing me with this and that alert that I don't care about. Also, I am
getting these messages that say bright, crisp, no faces.
Jean,
I think somebody answered your question about the image reports of no faces
earlier. It's in the VO Utility / speech / help tags. By setting it to do
nothing, help tags, which is what those image descriptions are, will not be
announced.
You won't get any other help tags announced
Yep, arranging tables is mostly just for sighted people. It also changes what
order VoiceOver comes across them, but this isn't really that important for
VoiceOver users.
I know, many of my personal spreadsheets apparently used to look awful and make
no sense to sighted people. Of late I've
Hi Jim,
From your description, it seems as if you might not have been following those
detailed instructions exactly. It might seem a little pedantic, but I suggest
you go back and have another attempt at following those numbered step-by-step
directions very closely. Slight changes can make the
Hi Nic!
I can't remember which message but some time back I did state that I followed
the directions from one of the messages and did not get the same results.
At this point it is faster for me to use spotlight to find what I need. I
think it is quicker and just easier now to not have to spend

Hi,
Not sure. I have not tried it. I wanted to be sure it was possible before I
tried it. I have not come across anything that I needed to copy, but wantd to
be sure that If I needed to do that it would be possible. I will have to try a
test and see and report back.

Hello everybody
It seems OpenOffice for Os X is pretty awful. It's unstable. VoiceOver
would not let me hear back what I've typed. It could sure do with room
for improvement. Finally you cannot press buttons in the normal way; you
have to press space once the button is in the VoiceOver cursor.
Hi Everyone,
I was recently having a discussion with a friend about how to type on the
on-screen keyboard of the iPhone. Personally, I don't particularly like to use
a special program for this like, for instance, mBraill or Fleksy. I just want
to use the regular keyboard. Dictation can be
I've been typing on the onscreen keyboard for months. I use it over fleksy bc I
can enter anything I want. I pt the iPod on a flat surface and type with my
pointer finger. I am, however, still slow.

I am not the best typist but have found the touch typing mdoe is

I feel completely comfortable typing on my iPod with the onscreen keyboard. I
don't think it's a practical way to do a lot of typing, as in editing
documents, at least not for me. it will always be significantly slower than a
keyboard. For most everyday uses, such as entering passwords and

I must be in the minority, I do have a small bluetooth keyboard I got from the

Join the club, I'm slow as ever with it, and have tried flexi, and have a

I prefer the iPhone's keyboard to that of the iPad, just because the keyboard
on the pad is more spread out. I use my right ;index and middle finger,
depending on which side of the keyboard the next letter or symbol will be
located. I am not as fast as my sighted wife, AMy Three Deer, but I'm
