So the official VMWare position is to Shutdown your VM Change the type from windows 7 or 8 to win10. Boot the VM, remove vm tools. Then install the upgrade to win10 using the media creation tool. Then reboot, reinstall vmtools and you’re done. I haven’t gotten the steps to work yet but that’s
