Hello Everyone,
Today, CVS Pharmacy released version 3.9 of its iOS app. Version 3.9 is
available to iOS 11 and higher, only. Version 3.9, I'm happy to report, is
VoiceOver accessible.
For those of us still on iOS 10.x, however, there is no update. We are on
version 3.6.1.

Hi,
I have this same problem. I can be reading a relatively long email or just have
my computer sitting there and the user account dialogue will pop up. It goes
away if I hit the control key but if I'm reading I lose my place in whatever
I'm reading. I agree it can be very annoying.

I could not make this happen, will try again tomorrow. I did a clean

I did not do a clean install. I upgraded over the top of Sierra. As for a
specific webpage, that really isn't necessary. Just go about your business and
find a nice meaty article on some webpage and start doing a continuous read. Or

Well, if anybody cares, I set my Mac to go to sleep after three hours. It had
been set to never. And I said the screen saver to kick in after 1 hour. I shut
down the machine and restarted it. And still, if I start reading a long email
or an article, within about two minutes or so, I get that
I never precisely timed it, but it happens quickly enough that articles get
interrupted. Maybe within 5 minutes or a bit less? Certainly no more than that.

Mary, first, how long does it take for this to occur? I just tried
to replicate it and read a complete page with no interruptions.
Second, do not wait for someone else to report a problem. The more

OK, thanks Tim. I will try that. I wonder if this has been reported to

would be Apple. Smile. But will they?

Hi,
You'd think so, but, it seems that the Security Server is still called up and
the authentication window rears its ugly head. Try a long time, but not the
"Never" option and see if that helps at all. I've been trying to see if I can
localize the Security Server and create an activity, but

Hi Tim, but if I have it set not to go to sleep, shouldn't that solve the
problem? Maybe there are two settings? Maybe I'm missing one.

Hi,
What's happening here is that the authentication layer, which is invisible to
the sighted user, is activating. When your computer screen is set to sleep
after a certain amount of time, or if it is set to lock after a certain amount
of time, authentication will take over and require a
I was wondering which way I should set it, since it's set to off. Never goes to

Mary,
To the best of my knowledge, the answer is no. This problem started in Sierra,
and I agree with you, it is annoying. But I have not found a way to make it go
away, other than scrolling through the webpage or other text using the arrow
keys.

Hi folks,
With my Mac on High Sierra, I am having VoiceOver interrupt continuous reading
on webpages every so often with a text that says user authentication window.
Now if I envoke window chooser, this window is not evident. So I guess it's
hidden or something. I'm wondering if there's anyway
Hi,
I realize that you don't care for iTunes, but once the book is in m4a or m4b
format from AudioBook Builder, you can use iTunes to create an mp3 version of

it to use the mp3 encoder. Next, locate the AudioBook in

Hey Simon,
I think it's either going to be Zoom or an actual phone line. Happily, my

You can’t take VLC with you when on a trip. I don’t read books on the iPhone
