You can convert it if you wish, but it's not necessary. I have the same set up,
it works fine.

In my opinion Apple needs to change the way Siri listens. Why not specifiing
the command? "Hey Siri iPad" or "Hey Siri Mac“? I sent this request to Apple
and I’d like to encourage everyone to do so too.
