I figured out a way you can add an unused keyboard letter to the keyboard commander in Voiceover Utility to do what you want. I just set my Mute Speech toggle to right-Option+Q (for quiet). Here’s what I did: 1. Press VO-F8 to open Voiceover Utility. 2. Move down to the Commanders category
