Yes. For some reason, they made more than a few changes to previous defaults.
I’m not exactly sure why. Trying to find some settings has been like going on a
scavenger hunt ….

I see that this setting is off by default in Ventura.
This is different than what I have experienced in earlier versions of the macOS.

Not sure where this setting is found in macOS Ventura.
In Monterey, and earlier versions of the OS, it can be found in System
Preferences > General.
This setting is on by default, so you really shouldn’t need to change it.
