Sounds like we are using the same keyboard. I got mine in 2006 and it works
great. I like it much better than my wife’s newer model Apple USB keyboard.

Here’s another wrinkle. I’m using a Microsoft Natural ergonometric keyboard

I am using an Apple USB keyboard from 2006 on my 2012 mac mini running high
Sierra and it works fine.
You should just connect the keyboard to your Mac and see if it works.
