I'd still look at Workflow or Launcher. No calling emergency responders, no opening apps and tapping through screens. Just set up a workflow or launcher icon, add it to the Notification Center, and it's ready. I haven't done this, but I believe either app is capable of it. Sent from my iPhone

Yes you can, in the Beta 10.2 the SOS feature is enabled now just like the watch. Instead of pressing the button on the watch you press the screen lock button 5 times now and it sends a message with your location to your contacts defined under the SOS feature as well as alerts the authorities.
