Yesterday, some counseled me that I could lock my iPad 2's rotation to
portrayed mode from the Control Center. I've looked in Control Center, and see
nothing relevant to it. Sorry to be a moron, but could someone clarify where
in Control Center I specify a rotation lock?
Thanks.

Is there not a setting that just says orientation lock after the IPod controls?

Nope. I have, in Control Center, the track position and title of whatever
musical selection is playing; then I have Airplane mode off, WIFI on, Bluetooth
on, Do not disturb off, Mute off, Clock, Camera, Airdrop and Brightness.
That is the extent of what is in my control Center.

Hmm, I didn't know the iPad was that much different than the iPhone in terms of
locking. Sorry I couldn't help.

Hi Mark. The side switch may already be set to lock rotation, in which case it
will not appear in the control centre. You can find the setting for the side
switch in settings/general. It can be set to mute sounds or rotation lock, and
whichever one is selected, will put the other in the control
The lock is therefore controlled by your side switch. You can change
this behaviour in the opening screen of the Settings app. Just make sure
General is selected on the left pain.

Hi, Thuy:
I have noted the side switch set to lock rotation within Settings. However,
nothing I do, either pressing the side switch (either up or down) or changing
it to mute, seems to actually lock the rotation. My assumption here was that
VoiceOver had cooped the side switch for volume, as
no i'm refering to the flick switch above the volume buttons.

Hmmm. Learn something new every day; I didn't' know the iPad had one of those,
and sure enough, that locks the rotation. Thanks again. I'm blushing at my own
ignorance. :)

Hello!
It should be next to Do not disturb.
Then clock and so on.
Maybe you have set something wrong in the settings.
I check with mine and come back to you.
