Jonathan,
I’ve never used the mini browser but I’ll play around with it today. Shouldn’t
be too much to learn.
Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll download the remote app shortly and let you
know how that goes.

I had an ida on this one. There is a iTunes remote by Apple on the IOS App
Store. I believe that if you start a playlist with this app controlling
your Macintosh, then you can read the up next area of the remote app.
I can't assure you of the reliability of the app. While I was trying to
learn
Thanks Tim. Yes I have tried your script. My only issue is I wanted to use a
script like this in order to stream my iTunes playlist for a radio show, so a
break in the audio wouldn’t work in this particular scenario.
I think I will be using your script for recreational listening though. Thanks
Hi Des,
Did you try the script I created? For me, I set Option-n to announce the next
song using my Apple Script and it works as you requested. There's about one
tenth of a second break in the current song as the script does it's thing, but
the announcement of the next song works.
Later...
Thanks all for the feedback.
I’ll definitely reach out and suggest that this be added to the scripting
dictionary. I feel this is a script other VO users would benefit from.

Hi,
If I could just figure out how to access the "Up Next" list, this might be even
more useful.

Hi,
I've modified one of my scripts to do what you're asking. It's not perfect,
but it does the job. Basically, when you run it, it skips forward, takes note
of the track, then flips back to the same time as when you left. You'll hear a
very short pause in the current song, but nothing to
Well, neither of those worked. The current playlist doesn't seem to change
as songs are played, and when I started playing my music in random order,
the first item in the current playlist was not the first item to be played.
I also looked at the miniplayer with up next as the view, and if one
Alex,
I noticed two possibilities but cannot test on my current system.
1. current playlist might actually be the "up next" list.
2. placing a hotspot on the first column first row of the up next list and
then speaking that hot spot.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that's not possible. I just looked in
iTunes' scripting dictionary, and there's no mention of accessing up next
information. This is something you could ask Apple to include
(www.apple.com/feedback), but it's not currently available as far as I could
Hi all,
Not sure if there is a Vo script that does this, but I would like to be able to
hit a custom hot key and have Voiceover speak whatever track is going to play
next on iTunes. I know there are several scripts that voice the current song,
so I feel like maybe there’s an up next script out
