I have not experimented with this but just saw it as i was exploring, see i
thought i was going crazy and was the only one with this issue. Then i found

I don't remember there being an auto gain control switch in the sound settings,
but somewhere in the chain there's automatic gain control, be it in your

Hi everyone,
When I use my microphone for online meetings, I notice that the volume will
often adjust itself. Unfortunately this affects how I sound to others, as I’ll
go from a normal volume, to very faint. I have to go into System Preferences /
Sound and turn the input volume back up.
