I noticed this too and there is an easy fix. Go to the menu bar and choose the
chrome menu, there is an option that says confirm before quitting, once that is
unchecked, command+q will work normally.

I'm not experiencing this. I tested with three tabs open, pressed cmd-q and it
quit normally. Did you possibly have one of the tabs with data in an entry
field?

I’ve noticed since upgrading to Chrome 70 that Command-Q no longer exits the
application, unless I’ve already used Command-W to close all open Web page
tabs. I suspect this is an intentional change.
