Subject: Re: Playing *.mp3 Files In PlayList Via VLC Media Player
Hi, Group.
I am not sure whether my question is related to this list directly, please
forgive me if it is not.
I have a zip file that has 30 mp3 files which are numbered sequencially. I

How can I do that, please?
I am sorry, I am not

rewind, fast forward, and adjust the volume level within the player. After you

Don't know if you have access to it but I found the Quick Time Player on my Mac
works pretty well. However, the ability to move through a track quickly and
easily is something Apple Desperately needs to improve, please report your

Hi. On further investigation, I have found that choosing other from open with

mp3 file, it opens with iTunes. There doesn't appear to be a way on the mac to
say only open mp3 files with vlc and no other app.

Hi,
I disagree. If you use the method I outlined in an email I sent earlier today,
that is, with the Get Info window, your mp3s will always open with VLC if you
choose that app.
Works for me every time.

Hi. I didn't see any message from you earlier. Could you please send it again?
I'd be interested in solving this problem.
Thanks.

Hi, guys. I was looking at my iTunes music library last night and realized that
every mp3 file I had played or opened was now in my library. Most of these were
audio files or podcast files I had opened.
I don't recall ever seeing this with the windows version. Since anything audio

Hi, Paul,
If you want VLC or any other program to open an mp3, simply go to open with and
choose other. In that dialog, you can choose the application and check the
box to have it do this from now on.
I don't believe there's a way to play files in ITunes without adding them to
the library.
