Hello listers. I am looking for a case for an ipad first gen. I would like to
have a slide out qwerty keyboard.

There are no slide out keyboards for iPad of any generation that I am aware
of. You have to get a Bluetooth or wired keyboard which requires an iPad dock.

You might want to look at the ZaggMate from Zagg.com. The keyboaard does not
slide out but is stored beneath the iPad in a kind of clamshell configuration
that allows the Ipad and keyboard to protect each other. The keyboard is built
into the ZaggMate and the Ipad flips over and fits snugly
