Thanks again, everyone, for your thoughts. I really wanted to go for the
Senheissers, but that sale was gone by the time I tried to check out, as I
said. I just found a sale on Senheisser HD 380 Pros, though, $99 instead of
$199 on Amazon. I hadn't heard them mentioned, but I figured Senheisser
Okay guys, here we go. The Sony MDRV6 with CCAW voice coil is currently $50.
However, a pair of Senheisser 598s is currently just $100, and those puppies
are apparently far more expensive normally. Again considering accurate sound
reproduction, wearing them for long stretches, and overall
Most assuredly, yes! :)

Sadly, the deal was gone by the time I got to it. Trust me, it was all I could
do not to punch a wall. smile
Now, it's between the Sonys and a set a friend swears by: the Grado SR80E. Both
are similarly priced. The only hesitation I have with the Sonys (which another
friend loves) is that
Hi,
If your looking for over the ear, and something you can just wear for a long
time in comfort, I recommend the Sennheiser Momentums. I’m using them right
now, and absolutely love them. The ear pads are extremely plush, and the band
is made of titanium. Very good build quality hear. And, the
Hi!
I can say yes even though i haven't tested them.
I have used sennheiser before i went to beyerdynamics and their headphones are
really good no matter the price.

Hi!
I have a pair of beyer dynamics which i now don’t know the model of but i
bought them in 208 and they still look and feel as new.
I actually used them a lot as they have a very good frequency range.

Another thing to consider is longer-term investment. About 15 years ago
I bought some nice high-end Sennheiser studio headphones after years of
going through cheapie sets. They sound great and are super comfortable
with a hard outer shell which blocks a lot of noise. I guess you could

Great point, I hadn't considered that. So it looks like Sony and Sennheiser are
the favorites. I'm avoiding Beats, because they're just over-priced, but are
there any other brands/models people like? I'm headed to Best Buy today to have
a look at any demo units they have available so I can hear
I recommend Boes. Again, they’re expensive but I really believe it is worth the
price and you’re getting what you pay for. the QC 25 are excellent and they
even make bluetooth iPhone style earbuds as well.

If long-term comfort is a priority, Sennheiser's higher end headphones are the
way to go, their ear cushions are ridiculously soft. The MDRV6 has replaceable
ear pads, but I'm not sure about the cord. I'd say the Sonys would be a good
bet at that budget and for the application.

I am too. I’m just gonna use EarPods, I suppose. I just have to see which
provider I use for an iPhone. I’ll have $100 for Christmas. Sorry if this gets
even more off topic. I’ve used a logitech usb headset for at least a year or
so. Headphones always break in my hands in a matter of months, or

Hope you find something good. If you do please share as ,like you I am looking

Hi Alex,
It all depends on your price range. I'm a huge fan of Senheizer headphones,
Sony's are nice too.
Of course, if you really want to get expensive, Bose headphones, or even Beats

I’ve used beats before, and they couldn’t handle being in a backpack, in their
own compartment.

I like my urban ears headphones that I got at the Apple Store there the over
the ear type kind of like beats, but they are a little bit more retro
looking, looking sort of like headphones used to look in the 1920s but way more
comfortable and the bass, is freaking awesome! And they fold up
Hi Alex,
For audio editing, I use around-the-ear headphones, Sony MDRV6s, that sound
great. They have a reputation for having a sound that doesn't mask the
qualities of the original audio source. I wouldn't exactly call them mobile
headphones, though they do fold up for transport or storage.
Thanks guys. I looked on Amazon, and the Sony ones are $85, but with 4.6 out of
5 stars and nearly 1800 reviews. Given that both are within my price range,
would you say the Sennheiser or Sony is better? I'd love to have the quality of
the Sony pair, but I'm a bit worried that they'll bring out
X2 on sony headphones for that budget.
