It is disconcerting to lose all the music that was compiled if one happens to cancel their apple music subscription. Given this fact, it might be more advantageous to just keep iTunes match, and purchase individual songs or albums as one sees fit. I would hate to lose too much music in

Tim is exactly right. Both services are not necessary unless you are going to play some some that you don’t want to have a copy of. I like iTunes match, cause it shows up on all my devices, including my appleTV. They allow you to have up to 100 thousand songs in your iCloud music library,
