Hi,

I did the same thing, as my original media centre pc started falling over about
6 months ago. I've had a macbook pro since the beginning of the year, and got
an EyeTV when I got my macbook. The software isn't at all accessible with VO.
You can watch TV, but you can't set up recordings or anything like that. You
can't go through your list of recordings, although you can find them in Finder,
open them and they will play. That's rather an annoying way of doing it though.

I bought a mac mini, which I put windows 7 on, and it is my media centre
machine now. Although windows 7 has some strange issue with losing tv signal.
For example, I'll get a message which says "No tv signal to record *** on
channel 22. Reschedule the recording when you have checked your signal". If
you go and check, you can watch channel 22, and the show actually does get
recorded. From what I have been able to gather, it is a documented issue,
which just hasn't been resolved yet.

I'd love to see EyeTV become accessible, because it does in deed look like a
cool programme, and unlike media centre, it seems to save in a standard
format--mp4 I think. So you could watch it anywhere.

Good luck, and if you find anything different, please, please let me know! I
believe there is another mac alternative to eyetv, but can't remember the name
of it, and it seems pretty hard to find.

Vaughn.
