Hello All, I am delighted to report that the new official California Lottery app, for iOS, is now VoiceOver accessible.
Also, the app has been updated so that lottery players can now scan their tickets, via the bar code, to determine if they've won any prizes and, if so, the app informs them of how much the prizes are worth. Further, players can now enter their eligible tickets into Second Chance drawings, via bar code. While the app is VoiceOver accessible, this is to say that all dialog boxes and edit fields are voice, correctly, in my opinion, it does require some vision in order to successfully scan tickets. In addition, while all crucial aspects of the app work perfectly with VoiceOver, the Draw Games area, the area that lists the current jackpot amounts, has a small VoiceOver bug that requires VoiceOver users to use the past-through gesture in order to view current prize jackpots. I have already reported this bug to the California Lottery Commission. This is a fun app and I am pleased that the California Lottery Commission understands that we, the visually impaired, enjoy games of chance just as much as our sighted counterparts. As always, play responsibly. Mark -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
