So maybe I missed a thread someplace but is the Kindle app for iPhone really not accessible? I download and installed it and found the framework at least to be accessible but I didn't want to purchase an actual book just to find out the act of reading was not. CB Jake wrote: But will we be

While we're somewhat off topic, Wired had an interesting article out on Friday about how copyright owners are fighting a plan to release e-books for the blind. Could have impact on book readers of any flavor. http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2009/12/blind_block/ CB Christina wrote: The NFB

The NFB had to push the release of their e-book reader to January sometime. I personally would prefer Amazon to make their apps accessible. Why can't they just make it so that it works with the TTS already built in to the iphone and the mac? Then voiceover can just read the books to us

Esther, I can't recall who posted the info, but wasn't there also something the NFB was collaborating with to make books accessible as well? I can't recall if this was for Kendal books, NLS books or what. Does anyone know what the status of this iPhone app is as well? tnx On Dec 8, 2009, at

Heh, now that'd be a major court case if they tried that. I do worry though that Kurzweil's up and coming Ebook reader software might inadvertantly allow them to do just that. Consider, if we have access to something else even if it doesn't have all the content, that gives the author's guild more

Hello Esther, Well, I can only speak for myself, but the reason why I didn't get too excited about the news of the updated stand-alone Kendall device is because I don't want yet another piece of technology to carry with me. I would be happy if they'd just make the Kendall App accessible. I

I'm not saying we should pay for anything but its an option. Once we have access to the device, we are part of the market for this product and we as much as anyone else can choose to purchase materials. Once you purchase the device, you purchase books and magazines as you wish. Obviously you
