Oh, wow! I knew you could do that for text phrases, but I didn’t know it
included emojis as well. That’s very cool! I’m going to set that up. Thanks
for the tip.

Where do you get this rocket app from?

How does it get transferred from the iPhone to Mac? Is it just automatic?

Using the phone, go to Settings, General, Keyboard, and text Replacement. go
to the add button, the first option is the phrase, Switch to your emoji
keyboard on the phone and find emoji you want. then in the shortcut field,
write the key combination you want for that Emoji. something like S F
When I just tried it it worked, but I was messy. VO didn’t give me any
indication that it had worked, and when I pressed escape to get out of the
emojis, my cursor wouldn’t go anywhere until I navigated away from the message
and then back again. Very strange.

Interesting idea. Maybe a dumb question, but how would you do that?

It worked when I just tried it a minute ago, but VO didn’t announce anything,
and my cursor wouldn’t go anywhere until I navigated away from the message and
then back to it.

Glad I’m not the only one. The weird thing is that it occasionally works. I
just haven’t been able to identify a pattern. Although I did just VO-space,
and that did work.

Hello,
I just tried inserting emojis. After finding the one I wanted, I pressed
VO-Space (i.e., Caps lock-Space or Control-Option-Space) and that worked.
VoiceOver announced the inserted emoji, and it was definitely in my document.

I use a third party app called Rocket as I couldn’t get the emoji's to play
nice on the Mac. A work around though, you could use your phone to create text
replacements with an emoji then use the key combination on the Mac. this even
saves time on the phone as well if you have common emojis you
I honestly was wondering that myself, sense I’ve run into that same issue.

Just VO-space works perfectly for me.

Hi all,
Question says it all. I have no problem finding the one I want, but no key
that I press seems to insert it into my document. I’ve tried space, enter, and
command option space. What’s the magic key? Running Monterrey now, in case
that’s relevant.
Thanks,
Donna
