When I have found that the eject is dim it either means an app (including the
finder) has an open directory or file on the disk, or else that you have
already asked the system to eject the drive and it is still processing.

I try to eject flash drives from my Mac Book Air, and I believe I running
Sierra, but a lot of times it’s dimmed. Then I get the message that it wasn’t
ejected properly. How do I make it work?
