I don't know anything about carbonite, but the shared apps folder is a common way to avoid storing large binary files multiple times for multiple users. Sure you might only have one login on your box but the architecture is designed to handle multiple users. Some people even set up multiple

Hi all, This may be a question for carbonite, but I thought someone on here might know. I am almost ready to switch my backup to my mac instead of windows. When I do, I assume carbonite will back up my apps (in the applications folder). My question, though, is: will it also back up app data?
