system. 99% of the time these files are very small and of no consequence. I
suggest you leave them alone as they are so small

That's common with MacOS. It is an indexing for spotlight.

I have found these files appear whenever I copy and paste a file. I think
they're somehow related to clearing the file. I find that if I empty my trash
when I'm done and before I eject the external drive if that's what I'm working
with.

So I’m going to sync my dropbox on my local hard drive.
The last time I did this, There were a lot of files created with dot in front
of the file names.
Just wondering if I tell Spotlight not to index that folder, will the dot files
still be created?
These files are also being
