Hi, I can understand how this would be annoying. Regretfully, I have not heard such in my Mac experience, so can't give you anything specific. I have two thoughts: 1.) Call Apple Support in a manner where they can hear your Mac making that sound. After all, they sold you the machine, right?

Hi All, I've recorded myself on the system to demonstrate this repeating ping sound that occurs without any input from me, and its starting to drive me absolutely bonkers. it's very disrupting and annoying, and I would really like to know what is going on, and how to turn this down. Attached
