Hmmm, I am not sure I understand what you mean when you say you cannot OCR
within the app. I can OCR within prizmo. If you did not OCR in prizmo than how
did you OCR with Prizmo to compare to abbyy? :) I was hoping Prizmo was a good
trade off because the price for Prizmo was quite a bit less
Hi,
I am barely fiddling with the mac app but I figured out how to do a scan. If
you go to file and click on new, then VO around in the window that opens up
until you hear something like import from camera and scanner. Select that than
VO and interact until you find the name of your scanner. I
You guys are all ahead of me. I typed in prismo and got no results. Could it
be that the app is only available in the US?
Thanks,

Hello,
This app seems interesting, accessible with voiceover and seems to have more
features then abby fine reader express that I am using on the mac.
However, I can figure out if this program is also designed to work with a
scanner: should it be possible to start/stop my scanner from inside
I believe it's spelled with a Z instead of an S. PRIZMO

William,
I cannot speak for ABBYY as I have never used it. Nor, can I offer much info
about prizmo as I am very new to prizmo 2. I have a little bit of experience. I
was able to use my scanner directly from prizmo. I scanned a two page paperback
book and the results were good. I was able to
Hello all,
I have played a little bit with it and indeed, It's possible to scan from
inside the app but abbyy fine reader express seems to be a better job to ocr
the text.
Also, it seems I can't ocr the text from inside the app when the text is
scanned from inside the app.
Ocr seems only to
Hi Esther,
Thanks for the link to the demo. As John indicated, it's hard to figure out
how to perform an actual scan. I did interact with the toolbar and was able to
configure settings, but that's as far as I've gotten.

Hi.
I have in fact godt prizmo to work, but I would recommend to do the scanning
with vuescan, and do the OCR with prizmo.
I bought it a wile ago on a macupdate desktop offer.
The Ocr is very good. In fact I got better results with some cookbooks than in
finereader 11. But I have an a3
This is advertised as a Macworld special, so I would guess it will not be on
long. But if you're running at least ios 10.7.5, this could be a good scanning
application. I'm on s/l still, so it is a no go for me. It is supposedly vo
friendly.

Hi Mary,
Thanks for letting us know about this sale. It sounds like I can use my iPhone

I will be curious how it works if you try it, Les. I was kind of hoping I could
buy it at this price and then install it on a future Mac, but it won't let me
do that because I have only SL. And of course I meant os 10.7.5, not ios 10.7.5
in my original note.

Hello Mary, Les, and Others,
Apparently you can download a trial version of Prizmo 2 from the
developer's web, but not, of course, from the Mac App store. Try going
to the Macupdate page for this app and use the Download Now link:
http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/31157/prizmo
I would be cautious
It seems to be fairly accessible. The problem is figuring out how the heck
you actually scan and OCR a document.
