Hello everyone, I have used the Olympus DM 520 with great success. It does use voice guidance. It also does use rechargeable batteries, which takes four hours to recharge when plugged into the computer. At the time of purchase, I was able to buy the recorder for $171 from Amazon several years

Hi May. The Zoom H1 is an inexpensive recorder than the Olympus's are going to be. The h1 is only $100, where as the Olympus's are going to be between #200 or higher. Here's a link to the h1 om long and mcquade's site.
