it wouldn't be illegal if you already own a mac you oviously have already paid
for your mac os10.x so even if you get snow leopard from someone else you are
licensed for it it's the license not the media that matters in software

A friend of mine used a preconfigured Mac VM, and sound worked just fine. I
don't know whether VMWare Tools was installed or not. If all else fails, you
can simply use a preconfigure VM. I am not condoning or suggesting that anyone
acquire one via illegal means, so let's not even go down that
