I’ve been using a Mac for a long time, and I don’t see how an older version of
the Mac’s Mail app could be causing this issue.
I would expect that a MacBook from 2011 should have been updated to at least
High Sierra (macOS 10.13.x), so I would eliminate that as the cause of the

I've never experienced any issue with fonts, but I don't use any fancy fonts

have one account set as the account to use to send mail by defalt. The problem
is even though that account is selected the mail is sent using a different

I have had this problem as well. Even though I had my go daddy email account
selected from the drop down box as the email address I was using my gmail
address seemed to over ride that as I learned this when the emails being
responded to were my personal gmail address and not my work go daddy
