Who’s dumb idea was it to disable the chime anyway. I mean that’s Apple’s
thing, their trademark, I mean really they always had an interesting startup
sound starting from the Apple 2 on up. I’m going to try to figure this out now

Join the club; I’ve always wished there were as well. It would really be
helpful considering the fact that we can’t see the logo come up on the screen.

Well apparently, there is a terminal command to get the chimes back on newer
max. Unfortunately, I don’t know it. I just saw that there was a command on
YouTube.

The Macs no longer have a chime on boot up, at least the new crop of laptops
doesn’t. You get the same beep the iPhone makes when you apply power but no
more chime and frankly I miss the chime and wish it weren’t removed.

The missing element here is, unlike the Mac, the iPhone does not
emit a chime when its powered on. Its a lengthy wait until it boots and
VO sounds off. A long wait to find out if it actually turned on.

It does, it beeps when VO activates, it beeps when you’re attached to power
and you boot and it says shutting down when you power down. That’s pretty good
no?

I have always wished the very same. It's annoying that we have no
power up or down sound.

Hi,
The only methods that I've heard of to accomplish this require you to JailBrake
your device. I would not recommend that.

Hi Stacy. Unfortunately, there is no way to make the iPhone make such a sound.
I totally wish there wasn’t, but unfortunately there is not.

Hello,
I use VO on my iPhone SE. On any iPhone I’ve used there’s never been a way for
me to tell when the iPhone is starting unless it’s plugged into power or my
macbook.
Is there any way that
I can make my phone make some sort of sound when its restarting if it’s not
plugged into power?
Peace
