Hi Jon and all who responded,
Thanks so much for suggesting group navigation. You're right - it
works wonderfully in this situation. I agree with whoever suggested a
keystroke for changing between group and DOM navigation. I will
definitely browse with VoiceOver Preferences open for a while
I thought it might be useful to mention that if you are on a site and
you open up the voiceover utility and then go to the web settings, if
you switch modes it will switch the mode on the web site you are
currently on when you switch back to the safari window. For now that

Voice over does not have a table navigation mode as the windows screen
readers do, so you would simply navigate it item by item. Usually this
works fine.

I should have mentioned that in my prior post. I didn't think about

What I said above about reading individual columns only works when
group is on.

and VO-down will read the next item in the column. That being said,
VO will recognize tables in snow leopard.

This is one place where "group navigation" really works well. Even if
you use "dom navigation" for most web pages, I would suggest switching
to group navigation for this site. (too bad there is not a way to
customize this on a per a site basis).

Hi,
I just went to a banking site with Safari that presents information in
tables, as I know from visiting the site using Firefox in Windows.
There is no indication of these tables with VoiceOver, however, so I
can't interact with them as I do the messages table in Mail, where I
can move
