Anyone here have problems with airplay on there HomePods?

2020-12-17 Thread matthew dyer
Evening all,

For the last few days now I have had problems with airplay not working with the
homepod. I usually,ly can get this fixed with a restart of the device. That
is by unpluging and pluging in again. This seems to work fora while but then
the problem continues. I do not want to remove it if I don’t have to. The
device is running 14.3 according to the home app. The strange thing is that
Siri works just fine. I am able to do things like ask the time and things like
that. However restart is not an option in the settings. Anyone else seeing
this lately? Like I said this has been going on now for some time. It
happened to me twice yesterday and now tonight. I don’t know if pausing and
playing music has anything else to do with it, but it is really driving me
crazy and making it very unreliable to use.

Thanks all.

Matthew

2020-12-17 Thread 'Donna Goodin' via MacVisionaries
Hi Mark,

Thanks so much for trying to duplicate this. I think I may have fixed it. I
have no idea how or why, but I clicked the edit button and when I did inbox was
in the list, and I tapped inbox when I went back into my mailbox list inbox
showed up. So maybe I have solved the problem. I really appreciate your efforts.
Cheers,
Donna

Hi all,

Ever since sometime in iOS 13, when I move from my inbox to another folder, say
sent or drafts or trash, when I go back to the All mailboxes list, my inbox is
not listed. The only way I have found to return to my inbox is to close mail

can’t figure out what it is. I’ve gone into settings to see if there’s some
setting I need to change, but I haven’t found one. Has anyone else seen this?
Does anyone know of a fix?
Thanks,

Finereader or docuscan.

2020-12-17 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hi!
I am thinking of buying a Christmas present to myself.
I would like to have one good scanner app on my Mac.
But what scanner app is the better of Docuscan or FineReader?
FineReader is more expensive but you need to register to Serotek in order to
get DocuScan to work.
Any thoughts?

Check out MediaHuman.com. They have several products that may suit your needs,
and their accessibility is good with the Mac.

Big Sur .1 Update Changes Messages Behavior with VoiceOver

2020-12-17 Thread Steve Matzura
Previously, after deleting a conversation, the cursor was placed in a
message edit field in some unknown converation, and the message "Object
replacement" was spoken. Now, the cursor is placed in the search field,
and the message "conversation deleted" is spoken. Sometimes the the
focus is on that spoken message, but either way, a VO-Right Arrow moves
focus to the conversations group. This is much more efficient than has
been previously.

I'd still like to know if it's possible to select more than one
conversation for deleting, and if there's a shortcut key I'm missing to
delete a conversation like there used to be in Catalina. Now, it's
required to go to the File menu and move to the "Delete conversation"
item therein.

monitor sleep mode

2020-12-17 Thread Jürgen Fleger
Hi,

I’m using a new MacBook Air with M1 and Mac OS 11.1.

Do you experience the same issue as follows: In System Preferences Battery I
can choose how long it should take the monitor to go to sleep mode. Standard
time is 2 minutes. I’m able to change this but after leaving the System
Preferences it’s automatically set back to 2 minutes. I consider this as
annoying.

Has anyone the same experience?

Thanks and all the best
Jürgen

I seem to have changed some setting on my Mac that makes quicknav to stop
the ability to type in textfields.
Also YouTube shortcuts does not work if I have quicknav turned off.
 Any thoughts on this?
