Re: Transferring data to new iMax

2022-10-27 Thread Bradford Snyder
I do the same.
I believe a clean start is the best way to go.
I also keep my important documents in iCloud, and once I sign into my Apple ID
account, all my stuff is there.
I also use Dropbox, but that is mostly how I exchange files with various groups
with which I collaborate.
Then, I install any applications I have previously purchased from the Mac
AppStore, and do a clean install of other applications I have acquired from
other sources.
One thing I never do, is set up a new Mac from a Time Machine backup. I
believe doing this creates more problems than it solves.
And absolutely never set up a new Mac with Apple Silicon, from a Time Machine
backup from an Intel Mac.
Every person I have known to have done this, has rendered their new Mac
unusable, and ended up returning the new Mac to Apple.

Keyboard for Mac

2022-10-27 Thread Lorie McCloud
I’ve got a keyboard new to me anyway that plugs in. It’s said to be a good
substitute for a magic keyboard. I plugged it in and pressed vo-k to explore
it. To the right of escape is F14 then F15 which also appear elsewhere. There’s
an up arrow in the row and some keys to control playing media.on the left of
the spacebar are the 3 standard Mac keys. On the right there are 4. I was
hoping for fn but it says 8. There isn’t an f1 or f2 that I can’t find. There’s
an f4 and f5 but I can’t find an f8. Is there anything I can do to adjust this?

thanks.
Lorie

AirPods Max on an M1 Mac.

2022-10-27 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hi!
It seems the AirPods Max sounds better on my New Mac mini m1 than my Old
MacBook Air.
Maybe not surprising but I was a bit chocked.

Stage Manager

2022-10-27 Thread Jürgen Fleger
Hi,

Stage Manager is one of the new features in Ventura. I tried it out but
couldn’t figure out if it was useful to VO users. So far I got it activated but
not to work. At least not using VO.

So, has anyone tried Stage Manager in conjunction with VoiceOver? Is it of any
use for us?

Thanks and all the best
Jürgen
