Anyone using this app to run a Windows virtual machine on the Mac?

I’ve been using YouTubeToMP3 for several years, and find it to be the best
converter application out there.

Re: Separating system volume and voice volume on Mac

2023-12-16 Thread Phil Halton
Thanks Jurgen, I forgot about these Vio command left and right arrow key
commands. I haven’t used the Mac in a while, mostly I stick with iOS but I just
got a new MacBook Pro. Where do you find out more about these commands to read
about them. is there a voiceover manual that I can access?

Yes, you can prevent the popup by going into the Setting for the Dropbox app,
which can be access through the Dropbox item in the Status Menu.

Re: Query re setting up a new Macbook Air from scratch using Voiceover?

2023-12-16 Thread Phil Halton
That’s how I just did it with my new MacBook Pro, as Brad says, just open the
lid and it will power up. Then voiceover will eventually start up on its own,
if not press the function key plus the command key plus the FN five key and it
will bring it up. Smooth sailing from there.

Re: Query re setting up a new Macbook Air from scratch using Voiceover?

2023-12-16 Thread Brad Snyder
When you get your new Mac unpacked, just lift the lid to turn it on. Then, let
it sit and don't touch it. Voiceover should start on its own after a short
period of time. If it doesn't, press Fn + CMD + F5, and VoiceOver will start.

Hi all

Really hoping you guys can help me here with your collective
expertese/experience. I have a new 2022 Macbook Air arriving tomorrow, which
I’m very excited about, as I’ve been waiting and saving a long time for it.
However, as it’s being delivered to my home it means that I’ve got to try to
set it up myself from scratch using Voiceover.

I’ve never done this myself before, so I’m really hoping that someone can reply
to this message with some truly idiot-proof/step-by-step instructions that I
can follow to set it up without making any catastrophic mistakes/crashing the
machine before I’ve even got going!! I mean, for a start, how on earth do you
even get Voiceover to come on when you first turn on the Mac so that you can
set it all up?

As you can see, I really do have no idea what I’m doing with this one. So any
help/guidance anyone can give from the point of view of someone with no sight
doing this really would be very much appreciated and most gratefully received.

Thanks so much for any responses.

Eleanor

Re: dropbox again

2023-12-16 Thread Brad Snyder
I wouldn't worry about it.
It means the dropbox is constantly sinking that folder. If you add something to
it, it will be synced. If you delete something from it, the folder will be
updated to reflect that something has been deleted.
I believe my Mac does the same thing, and has done so for a long time. I never
give it any thought.

Re: Query re setting up a new Macbook Air from scratch using Voiceover?

2023-12-16 Thread Les Kriegler
Hi Eleanor,

Well, there are a lot of experts on this list, who will be able to provide you
with lots of information. I will answer one question. To start voiceover when
you turn on your Mac, hold down your command, key and type F5. The command key
should be The first key to the left or right of your spacebar. That will at
least get voiceover up and talking. Have fun with your new Mac. I’m sure you
will enjoy it. It’s a very fast machine and works very well.

Query re setting up a new Macbook Air from scratch using Voiceover?

2023-12-16 Thread 'Eleanor Roberts' via MacVisionaries

Eleanor

Re: Separating system volume and voice volume on Mac

2023-12-16 Thread Jürgen Fleger
Press VO + CMD + Shift + right or left Arrow until you'll reach Volume. Then
press up or down Arrow while you're still holding the keys in your left hand.

Separating system volume and voice volume on Mac

2023-12-16 Thread Phil Halton
Is there anyway to differentiate between system media volume and voiceover
volume on the Mac like there is an iOS? I’m trying to record some YouTube video
but in order to get the volume up high enough I have to blast my ears out with
voiceover.
