Once your message is written, shift tab to the signature field which is to the right of the from field, so you shift tab once and then make sure your signature is selected as you need to put a name to call your signature when you are in mail preferences. I hope you are going in to mail

Hello All: I know this question has been asked before. I have put signatures in the field for the purpose in system preferences. When I compose a message, there is a button just below the subject line that says signatures but when I hit that, my signatures do not appear. The only choices I get
