Homepod

2018-01-23 Thread christopher hallsworth
Good morning to the list.
I would like to bring to your attention big news on Homepod which was announced
by Apple yesterday. If you go to their web page on Homepod, you will now see
when you can pre-order the smart speaker, Friday 26 January, and when it will
become available, Friday 9 February. This is for US, UK and Australia for now,
with more countries coming soon, beginning with France and Germany in the
Spring.
Happy shopping and enjoy Homepod!

Importing more music in to iTunes

2018-01-23 Thread Agent086b
Hi all,
can I get iTunes to scan my iMac for music that is not already in iTunes? I
think there are albums on my Mac that aren’t in iTunes.
Thanks for any advice.
Max.

RE: Horizontal scrolling in IOS

2018-01-23 Thread 'Jason White' via MacVisionaries
Does sliding three fingers to the left (with VoiceOver running) solve it? I
suspect not, but it's worth trying.

Subject: Horizontal scrolling in IOS

Hello,
I am running IOS 11.2.2 on my iPhone 5S. I am using the discover function of
the headspace app to discover new meditation packs.

this function displays packs under various headings with the packs for that
heading listed in a horizontal line. to see all the packs for a given heading
it is thus necessary to do horizontal scrolling.

Is it possible to do horizontal scrolling under VoiceOver and if so what is the
correct gesture? If this is not possible can I triple press the home button to
turn off VoiceOver and then do horizontal scrolling and then turn VoiceOver
back on. If so what is the gesture to do horizontal scrolling with VoiceOver
turned off?

Many thanks for any tips.

Re: Is anyone else having issues reading Kindle books on iOS using a braille display?

2018-01-23 Thread Thuy Mallalieu
Hi Des and anyone else experiencing these issues. I too was having these
problems and tried several Braille Displays and still the same problems with
turning pages with the panning buttons with every Display including the Focus
40 that seemed to work ok for Mark. That got me thinking about changing some of
the viewing options. I think Mark can see a bit, so I wondered if he might have
increased the font size in his kindle viewing options. So i pressed the
increase font size button a few times, and hey presto, the page turning seems
to be working now. So give it a go and see if it works for you as well.
Cheers
Thuy
